A Republican congresswoman has called on the Obama administration not to allow the entrance of people from West Africa due to the Ebola outbreak.
"I do believe that we should cease to allow people who have been in the three countries in West Africa, we should not allow them to come into the country until things settle down," Rep. Cynthia Lummis said during a debate on Monday.
The 56-year-old Sudanese man had been flown from Liberia to Leipzig last Thursday, where he received treatment at a specialist unit at the St Georg clinic.
A World Health Organization official says there could be up to 10,000 new cases of Ebola per week within two months.
WHO assistant director-general Dr. Bruce Aylward says if the response to the Ebola crisis isn't stepped up within 60 days, "a lot more people will die" and there will be a huge need on the ground to deal with the spiraling numbers of cases. He said WHO estimated there could up to 10,000 cases per week in two months.

Second person who some identified as Miss Pham's boyfriend is being monitored for symptoms
A second person who came in contact with the nurse is being monitored for Ebola symptoms in an isolation unit at Texas Presbyterian. He is reportedly Miss Pham's boyfriend according to Dallas News.
"The WHO advises within 60 days we must ensure 70% of infected people are in a care facility and 70% of burials are done without causing further infection," said Anthony Banbury, the UN's deputy ebola coordinator.
Nina Pham, 26, who Frieden did not identify by name, remains in stable condition, he said, while the CDC continues to monitor her boyfriend and her dog.
The WHO estimates its figures by taking the numbers of confirmed cases and multiplying them - from Guinea by 1.5, from Sierra Leone by 2 and from Liberia by 2.5 - to account for under-reporting.
